The “Counting Miracles” Story

I receive a monthly newsletter from an organization called the Beacons of Light. They offer a practical magic series, which are suggestions for living more fully. In the Spring of 2005, the practical magic assignment at Lightworker.com was to count miracles for eleven days. The miracles I counted during those eleven days continue to bring more miracles into my life. The title track from my CD is the song I wrote at the end of the 11 day practice. Although I did experience life changing miracles during that time, the greatest miracle was developing my eyes and my heart to literally see all of life as the miracle it truly is. Since this experience, I've been collecting miracle quotes.

Counting Miracles

I’ve been told to count my blessings
Sometimes I’ve counted sheep
And I’ve counted on a helping hand
When the water got too deep

“Count miracles”, I heard a small voice say
So imagine my surprise
When I started counting miracles
They appeared before my eyes

Now I’m counting miracles
I think there’s one for every star
I’m counting how much we can really change
And still be who we are
It’s like counting how many drops of water
It will take to make the ocean full
